About

Rofino Licuco

Rofino Licuco is a seasoned real estate and infrastructure developer based in Mozambique. As the founder and CEO of VBC Corporation, a company he established over two decades ago, Mr. Licuco leads a broad portfolio of commercial, residential, and clean energy projects—including solar and wind farms. Under his leadership, VBC Corporation has earned multiple honors, including the International Gold Star for Quality, in recognition of its achievements in innovation, leadership, and customer satisfaction.

Mr. Licuco’s entrepreneurial journey began early. At just eight years old, he started selling oil on the street, saving enough to buy his first bicycle. He soon turned that single purchase into a fleet of about 20 bicycles, which he rented out to local schools. By the age of 15, he was traveling internationally—buying and selling computers and electronic equipment in South Africa and Hong Kong.

Today, Rofino Licuco brings that same drive and business acumen to real estate development. He holds his team to high standards and emphasizes transparency in all areas of the business, often negotiating directly with material suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and quality control.

In addition to his business ventures, Mr. Licuco is a committed philanthropist. He supports OBRA DOM ORIONE, which provides housing and services for children with special needs, and House Matthew 25, a Maputo-based charity that prepares and distributes hot meals to the homeless.

Mr. Licuco is also an active investor, particularly in the technology sector. He has completed training in management, accounting, and building design, and is a graduate of the Real Estate Executive Program at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School.
